paint these birds with ease! This is a skill building class.

 Excellent Value

  • Class notes to follow along with the videos.
  • When you purchase this course you will receive an automatically generated email Order Confirmation email containing the pdf files and video lesson links for each bird.
  • Video access 24/7
  • You may contact the teacher with questions and for a critique of your work.  Contact information provided in the text lessons.
  • If painting realistic tropical birds are subjects you’ve always wanted to master, then working with a brilliant color palette and pure pigments is one of the keys to your success. There are also specific painting techniques you learn that will make the process much easier than you might think.
  • The secret is in knowing your subject and the environment where they live. Getting good results depends on several things, from understanding the bird’s anatomy to creating a composition or setting that will support the main subject. Having been raised in the tropics myself, I've spent many years painting and studying these fine creatures and observing their natural habitat.
  • I understand what it takes to portray them at their best, especially if a student has never painted or been around these kinds of birds before. Painting from photographic reference materials has been the key for me and I’d like to pass on this knowledge, along with all the tips and tricks I have collected and learned.
  • As shown in the graphic above, the four subjects are: The Toucan, A Parott in Bamboo,  A Red Macaw and  A Flamingo. As students learn about painting feathers, eyes and details, they also learn how to mix their brilliant colors using a limited palette of colors. Techniques for managing light, painting foliage and the tropical environment are also demonstrated in full detail. I also share many of my tricks for bringing your tropical bird paintings to life.
  • Prior painting experience will help the student get the most from this comprehensive and in-depth course. However, with that said, if the student is keen and has limited painting experience, they can work at a slower pace, still learning volumes about painting birds.
  • This painting class is taught with Artist grade acrylic paint.

Painting The Details

Learn how to paint the facial details that make each of these beautiful birds one of a kind. Watch close up as Neadeen describes each little feature of the birds face, from the smallest feathers and pigmentations to the natural translucency of painting the bird's beak. Learning how to paint birds in acrylic takes a good understanding of the bird's anatomy. Each of the four bird studies is painted with a different painting method and acrylic painting techniques, so the student learns a wide variety of paint applications. Each of these online painting lessons can be applied to future studies of birds.

Learn to paint birds using different painting methods for each one!

Makes Learning Easy - Course Materials Are Broken Into Bite Size Pieces

  • The course lessons and videos start out by explaining in detail the anatomy of birds. This information will make you feel confident as you learn to recognize the form of the bird as well as the differences between textures, colors and patterns of feathers. This also helps to explain growth pattern and direction making it easier to understand while you paint.
  • The class goal is for you to have a well-rounded view of the subject we’re covering. As we move through the course videos together, you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment with each painting exercise.
  • There are many classroom forums where photographs and questions and answers are shared between students and the instructor. This helps the student know that they are on the right track. If there are any issues or challenges, these Q & A’s forums help clarify anything that might not be completely clear to you.
  •  The student can easily work through a single bird study over a weekend of painting time.  The classroom is always open. You can work along at your own pace as the course is designed to be flexible to fit with busy schedules.

How often do you find yourself saying:

"I wish I knew how to paint like that?"

Extra Bonus: In this class you will be able to paint like this. There are many added benefits: Not only do you learn about painting birds, in the toucan lesson featured below, there is an added bonus. I share with you how the final composition evolved. Students are able to see several design changes and adjustments made to frame the main subject and enhance the overall compositional flow. This is an added benefit for any student wanting to see this behind the scenes aspect of any new painting and how it comes together.

From the time of registration, students have

unlimited access to classroom...your class never expires!!
