The Blue and Gold Macaw is a large South American parrot with mostly blue top parts and light orange underparts, with gradient hues of green on top of its head. The Macaw has beautiful complimentary colors and Gary has set this handsome bird on a soft neutral Beige background. The instructions use wet into wet oil painting techniques and is geared to the intermediate level oil painter. Gary uses a loose style in this painting and the result is absolutely wonderful!
The downloadable e-pattern includes line drawing, complete supply list, step by step very detailed painting instruction and many large close up photos as well as a full page reference photo of the finished painting.
(This design can be painted using Extender Medium with artist grade acrylics however you will need to know how to make that transition when using it. There is a very helpful YouTube video "How to Use Extender Medium" from Art Apprentice Online that is a great resource.)
